Redemption in Motion
A Story of Responsibility, Compliance, and Renewal
My journey has never been simple. At 24 years old, just four days before Christmas, I experienced my first panic attack while working alone in a quiet, unfinished house. That terrifying moment spiraled into years of anxiety, depression, and ultimately dependency on prescription medications like benzodiazepines. For over a decade, I lived in a constant cycle of needing medication just to function, carrying spare pills in my pocket, toolbox, and even in my kayak bag out of fear that missing a dose would send me into withdrawal. It was a lonely and exhausting existence, one where I often felt misunderstood by others, even those closest to me. Some assumed I was lazy when, in truth, I was just trying to make it through the day under the crushing weight of depression and chemical dependency. My body was exhausted, my energy fleeting, and my hope stretched thin.
Eventually, with determination, support, and relentless research, I found relief through a blend of amino acids that eased my withdrawal symptoms. Out of gratitude and a burning desire to help others who felt as desperate as I once did, I created Chill6™, a drink I believed could give others the same gift of freedom I had found.
What started as a mission of compassion led me into territory I did not fully understand. In 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Department of Justice (DOJ) raised serious concerns about Chill6™ and the way it was marketed. The FDA determined that my inclusion of Phenibut HCl, an ingredient I thought was helpful, was not approved as safe for foods or supplements. They also found that my claims that Chill6™ could treat conditions like anxiety, insomnia, alcoholism, and PTSD turned the product into what they considered an unapproved new drug. I had unintentionally crossed a line, letting my passion for helping people overshadow my responsibility to protect them.
At first, I pushed back. I misunderstood the weight of their concerns. But when I stopped and truly listened, I realized they weren’t working against me, they were working to protect the very people I wanted to help.
That’s when I made the decision that changed everything: I fully complied with every request, from start to finish. I reformulated, restructured, and worked transparently with regulators because my customers, and their safety, will always come first. And because of this full cooperation, the FDA and DOJ never pursued charges against me.
Good intentions don’t excuse overlooking safety, ethics, or compliance. Every product must meet the highest scientific and legal standards.
By overstating benefits, I risked the very trust I was trying to earn. I will never make that mistake again.
I had to lay down pride and learn to listen, to regulators, to science, and to my own conscience.
From this journey of hardship, mistakes, and redemption, I make The Dan Marold Promise:
My life has been one of panic, addiction, struggle, and then hope, renewal, and redemption.
I now stand before you, not as a man with all the answers, but as someone who has walked through the fire, made mistakes, and chosen to grow from them.
The Dan Marold Promise is simple: to always choose integrity, compliance, and compassion; to honor my customers as my highest priority; and to use my story not only to create safe, sustainable products, but also to inspire hope in anyone fighting their own battles.
Because redemption isn’t just about a comeback, it’s about living righteously, every single day.
